Public Programming: Tarot-Thon Fundraisers

Our annual Tarot-Thon events bring together a wide constellation of healing arts practitioners—tarot readers, astrologers, energy workers, sound healers, and intuitive artists—to pool their skills, time, and resources in service of community care.

These gatherings transform the act of divination into a collective fundraising engine, channeling spiritual and creative labor toward material support for those most impacted by structural violence and inequity.

Over the years, we have organized more than a dozen Tarot-Thons, raising funds for Black-, trans-, and Indigenous-led initiatives. Each event is structured as a kind of energetic commons: practitioners donate readings and sessions, and attendees contribute on a sliding-scale basis, ensuring that everyone—regardless of income—can participate. The reciprocity at the heart of divinatory practice becomes a model for mutual aid, redistributing resources in ways that honor justice, empowerment, and community well-being.

Tarot-Thons are also celebratory spaces. They invite participants to connect with the archetypal worlds of the tarot, to reflect on their own paths, and to receive guidance in an atmosphere of support and generosity. Practitioners have the opportunity to offer their gifts in a way that uplifts others, while attendees experience healing within a framework that directly contributes to collective liberation. In this sense, each Tarot-Thon becomes both a ritual and a fundraiser—a gathering that aligns spiritual practice with material care.

By bringing healing arts practitioners together around a shared purpose, the Tarot-Thons demonstrate how intuitive and esoteric practices can be mobilized toward real-world transformation..
