Public Programming: Rainbow Transmissions

We create public performances and rituals that bring our community together through shared, multisensory experiences. Our public programs include offerings of performance, ritual, sound, and art that invite participants to gather, connect, and recalibrate in collective space. These events emphasize accessibility, embodiment, and nourishment—spiritually, artistically, and physically.

Rainbow Transmissions—curated by Eliza Swann and Edgar Fabián Frías—was commissioned and funded by the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Presented in 2019 at Pershing Square in Downtown Los Angeles, the program unfolded over two vibrant days dedicated to free food, sound healing, and community gathering.

At the heart of Rainbow Transmissions was nourishment: we served free vegan food in every color of the rainbow, creating a playful, alchemical palette of offerings that invited guests to eat, rest, and experience color through taste and sensation. A communal lounge anchored the space, giving participants room to pause, breathe, and connect with one another between performances.

Throughout the event, artists and healers offered sound works, rituals, and performances that articulated the many frequencies of collective transformation. Yoli Alma-Flor, Breadwoman, Edgar Fabian Frias, Fawntisse Finesse, Gay Cay, Francisco Gonzalez, Kwonyin, Matthewdavid, Na Mira, Saewon Oh, Thaddeus Pedisich, Laura Stinger, Eliza Swann, and Asia Wong all contributed performances that moved between meditative sound healing, experimental music, ecstatic ritual, and embodied practice. Together, their contributions created a shimmering field of communal attention—an open, public transmission of care, creativity, and possibility.

Rainbow Transmissions exemplifies our commitment to creating public, accessible, community-centered art experiences that nourish on every level: body, mind, and spirit.
