About Golden Dome

Founded in 2014 as an art school for mystics, Golden Dome has remained committed to rigorous spiritual, artistic, and communal inquiry. Over its first decade, Golden Dome evolved into a curatorial and educational platform offering immersive courses, public rituals, artist residencies, exhibitions, performances, and publications across the United States.

Our annual Resurrection of Care ritual gave members of our community an opportunity to renew our vows to each other and our earth and reinforce our resistance to the greed and exploitation that threatens our world. Golden Dome has collaborated with numerous cultural institutions including Coaxial Arts, Feminist Center for Creative Work, The Hammer Museum, The Philosophical Research Society, and more.

In 2025, founder Eliza Swann expanded this vision by establishing The Emerald School of Alchemical Arts, a dedicated platform for the study of magic, alchemy, and radical creativity. Taught solely by Swann, the school deepens Golden Dome’s commitment to transformative, esoteric education.

Today, Golden Dome supports projects that echo and extend its founding ethos, honoring models of communal learning and fostering endeavors that reimagine the boundaries of artistic disciplines. Throughout our evolution our values have remained steady: we encourage questions and support intellectual, spiritual and creative freedom. We treat magic as a restorative practice that nurtures people and the planet, and we embrace animism as a framework that counters the harm of extractive, profit-driven systems.

The Golden Dome was founded by artist and mystic Eliza Swann in 2014, and nurtured by an expanding circle of essential collaborators.

About Eliza Swann

Eliza Swann, also known as Emerald, is a writer, artist, alchemist and scholar based in New York.

Swann's formative years cultivated a deep interest in the intertwined studies of mysticism and the arts, which remain central to their work as both artist and educator.

Swann holds a BA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute (2004) and an MFA from Central St. Martins in London (2012). Their studies also include initiatory work in Gnostic and Hermetic orders, Vedic cosmology with Dr. Vagsish Shastri, mindfulness meditation at the Insight Meditation Society, and training in herbalism and land-based practice with their witch aunt and other teachers—experiences that shape their integrated approach to esoteric and ecological arts. As a visual artist, Swann has exhibited internationally, with recent presentations at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and the Feminist Center for Creative Work in Los Angeles. They are the author of The Anatomy of the Aura, Green Mary, and The Alchemical Imagination, and have contributed to numerous publications.
